sE7 Small Diaphragm Condener Microphone

The sE7: A compact & classy condenser.

The sE7 is a high-quality back-electret small diaphragm condenser microphone intended for a wide range of studio and live sound applications, from acoustic guitars to pianos to drums and beyond.

With an optimized acoustic design, discrete class-A circuitry and a transformerless output, it delivers clear, natural sound quality at all frequencies, without suffering from fizzy highs or a lack of low-frequency punch.

The discrete electronics and the switchable attenuation pad ensure a high dynamic range, with high sound pressure level (SPL) handling capability and extremely low-noise components. The switchable low-cut filter helps eliminate rumble or footfall noise, and can also compensate for an excess of bass frequencies caused by the proximity effect. This enables the sE7 to close-mic many instruments including electric guitar speaker cabinets, brass instruments and drums.

Reliable operation even in demanding on-stage applications in difficult environments is ensured by the roadworthy all-metal design, robust construction, and high-quality manufacturing standards.

ART D7 Large Diaphragm Dynamic Microphone

Capable of delivering an exceptionally smooth, flat frequency response with highly predictable proximity effect, the ART D7 large diaphragm dynamic microphone offers a musicality and tone not easily attainable with small diaphragm dynamic or condenser microphones. The unique character and versatility of a large diaphragm dynamic makes the ART D7 an essential addition to any live sound or studio engineer's microphone toolkit.

In live sound and recording applications, the D7's cardioid pattern offers excellent feedback rejection and isolation, making it an exceptional choice for powerful vocal applications and a wide range of solo instruments including background brass and low range bass woodwinds, acoustic stringed instruments like cello and bass, bass amps, high volume guitar amps, drums and percussion. It offers full frequency response at the front of the microphone with a very controlled and predictable proximity effect - the increased low frequency response when microphone is placed close to sound source.

Vocalists can use the proximity effect to their advantage, adding fullness and more 'bottom end' to the voice. Experienced vocalists can easily incorporate it as part of their overall microphone technique. This is exceptionally useful when the D7 is used as an announcement microphone in broadcast applications.

Integrated High Pass Filter and Midrange Boost switches on the D7 allow tailoring the microphone response for specific applications, adding versatility and ensuring accurate tone shaping at the source.

The microphone's precision-tooled body and dent resistant stainless-steel wire-mesh windscreen offer unmatched long term reliability. The included shock-mount virtually eliminates vibration and handling noise, while at the same time safely securing the microphone in any position needed during use. Aluminum carry case included.

Apex 185B Matched Pair Pencil Condenser

One of the most versatile microphones in any engineers' toolkit, the matched pair of Apex 185B multi-pattern pencil condensers are perfect for any application where perfect stereo imaging is required.

Ideal for use tight on drum kits and cymbals (when using the cardioid capsules), overhead on drum kits (when using the omnidirectional capsules) on acoustic guitars, stringed instruments, acoustic pianos, ambient vocals and brass or woodwind sections.

The cardioid capsules are generally used for live sound reinforcement or recording applications where wide dynamic range and good off-axis rejection is required. The omnidirectional capsules can be used in the studio or for live recording where off-axis rejection isn't an issue, and the engineer wants to limit proximity effect or needs a wider non-directional pickup pattern.

The Apex 185B has two switches on the microphone body. The -10dB pad switch allows the engineer to reduce the microphone's output when close miking high sound pressure souces like brass and woodwind instruments or when using the Apex 185B on drums or percussion instruments. The low-frequency roll-off switch allows the user to reduce low frequency 'clutter' in the audio signal at the source, making for cleaner recorded tracks with increased presence and definition.

The matched pair of Apex 185B come with IMC-9 shockmount cradles to better isolate the capsules when using the microphones for most delicate recording or live sound reinforcement applications.

  • A Matched Pair of Pencil Condenser Microphones

    Apex 787 Active Ribbon Microphone

The Apex787 delivers natural tone and the stunning realism of classic vintage ribbon microphones, with the advantages of an increased overall output and more consistent frequency response when used with various mixers and microphone preamps.

The integrated active electronics of the Apex787 deliver higher output than a classic ribbon design, rivalling the levels of any side address studio condenser microphone. Unlike a dynamic ribbon mic design, the Apex787's overall tone is less affected by the variable impedance of the input channel or preamp.

This innovative design makes the Apex787 the ideal solution for any critical recording where the tone of a ribbon microphone is preferred, but the reliability, output and performance of a condenser microphone is required.

The asymmetrical figure-8 pickup pattern has an extended sweet spot on the rear face of the microphone allowing the recording to accurately reproduce the natural space and ambient reverberation of a good sounding live room.

The microphone's chassis is precision-tooled aluminum alloy with a dent resistant stainless-steel wire-mesh windscreen. The included shock-mount virtually eliminates vibration and handling noise, while at the same time safely securing the microphone in any position needed during the recording process.

The Apex787 includes a vintage yoke-style microphone standmount and ships in aluminum carry case.
