Cables Make the System

Posted by Phil Miller on

We use cables everyday in the audio industry. Whether its the permanent install cable we pull into conduits and chases at customer sites, in the recording studio, or stage cables when running a live show. Each application has a different set of requirements and trade-offs for price, gauge, durability, twist-rate, shielding or flame/smoke resistance just to name a few.

When choosing cables for stage use, we highly recommend paying extra attention to durability. The jacket needs to resist abrasion and remain flexible. The conductors need to be large enough to handle the signal level that runs through it without unnecessary coloration of the sound. The connectors need to be made of high-quality materials and installed properly to maintain physical and electrical properties.

I have used Conquest cables for over 25 years. I have never been disappointed in the quality. That’s how they can offer a Lifetime Manufacturer’s Warranty against defects in material and workmanship on their cables. There are some common sense limits of course. If you can treat your cable with a little respect it should be with you for years of loyal service.

We offer a variety of manufacturer’s cables that represent different value propositions. We choose the cables based on the company that backs them as well as the product itself. We are proud to recommend Conquest Cables to our friends and customers.
