Alpine Music Safe Pro Hearing Protection Review
I have used many different brands of ear plugs over the years, mostly for protection against the extreme noise environments being in marching band, drum corps, and sitting behind a drum set. In all of these environments it is imperative to protect your hearing while still preserving clarity of sound to listen to your environment as accurately as possible.
The Alpine Music Safe Pro hearing protection system is one of the best I have used so far. I have been testing them in different environments for about 6 months now and it is safe to say that these ear plugs provide a genuine clarity while at the same time performing very well as sound dampening for my ears. Being a drummer I typically find myself practicing mainly with the Gold filters as they provide the most hearing protection of the 3 that you receive. The Silver filters are fantastic in a gig/worship setting as I can wear my earplugs under my over ear headphones so that I can monitor the music at a good level and play without further risking damage to my ears. The White filters are great for being outdoors if you are around a lot of construction or loud traffic. They reduce a little bit of noise and you can't really even tell you have them in your ears with the white filters in, a plus in my book.
Some other nice features are the extra components that come with the ear plugs. First you have a string with two form fitted clips that snap snuggly onto the ear plugs. This has been one of my biggest issues with most other ear plugs. Most brands either don't come with the strap or are easy to lose/difficult to remove and put back on again. These have by far the best system in which you can keep track of your ear plugs better, or comfortably remove the string and use at another time. Second, you have the very nice carrying case that comes with to hold the ear plugs PLUS the other two sets of filters. It is small enough to fit on a keychain and it is more durable than the plastic clamshell holders you get with most standard earplugs. The cleaner that comes with the earplugs is nice, but too big to fit in the case so I often just find myself cleaning them with soap and water which is plenty enough to sanitize them during regular use.
Overall these ear plugs are well worth the money if not more. I have had them longer than any other brand or set that I have ever owned in the past. Check them out, your ears will thank you!
