First Fridays August 2017 Ableton Live Demonstration
Sound Designer, Michele Darling, a Goshen native based in DC, will be demonstrating the music software Ableton Live in our August First Friday event at A/V Tech.
Live is widely used in music production and has a unique approach that has changed the way music is made today.
Throughout the evening, Michele will go over the basics of the program; beat making, songwriting, and arrangement.
Whether you are interested in producing pop, hip hop, trap, techno, house, DnB, funk, singer/songwriter style, or your own blend, this workshop is open for all types of styles and experience levels.
Beginners welcome. Come join us for this fun night of music, tech, and creativity!
Michele Darling is a sound designer/composer/recording engineer. After studying music at Indiana University, she discovered the world of music production and went on to get a master’s degree from NYU Steinhardt’s music technology program. Darling was a composer/sound designer for an Emmy award winning team at Sesame Workshop. She has also done sound work for such companies as HBO Family, The Learning Channel, 4Kids Entertainment (Pokemon, Yu-Gi-Oh!, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles), Toca Boca, and The Criterion Collection. Since 2005, Darling has been an educator in the field of music production. A former Associate Professor of Audio at Long Island University Brooklyn, she brought her knowledge of music production and education to Dubspot, a well-known electronic music school, as their Director of Education during its hey day.
Currently, Darling is a freelance sound designer and is a member of Ableton Live's sound design team, creating sound packs for users of the program.
